Welcome to EY2! We have had a great start to the school year and are enjoying getting to know your children.
You can access our schedule at the link to the right. You can also read about our EY2 staff.
Just a few reminders as we get into the routine of school.
Please subscribe to our EY2 blog so that you get automatic reminders when new posts arise. If ou are not sure how to do this we are happy to walk you through it, just let us know if you need help.
Upon arrival students should put their backpacks in their cubby and head out to the playground. Supervision on the playground begins at 7:30 and goes until the bell at 7:50. Students should line up with their class at 7:50 and wait for their teacher to walk them to class.
Dismissal is at 2:30, please make sure to sign out before taking your child. At 2:45 remaining students will be taken to Supervision and you will need to sign them out from the library on the second floor.
Students need a bag with a KIS swim suit, goggles, swim cap, towel, and sandals all clearly labeled with your child’s name. The sandals will stay at school for the school year.
Swimming is a required part of the program. If your child cannot swim they need a doctor’s note specifying the reason your child cannot swim.
Please note that library will be on Tuesdays and the children will need to return their books on Tuesdays in order to check out new books.
Your child should wear their PE Uniform on PE Days.
Note from the SEA:
Students can no longer wear the old PE uniform. If students arrive wearing the old uniform, parents will be reminded to get a new one from the school shop. No mixing and matching of other tops or bottoms that are not part of the overall PE attire. Thank you.
The school cafeteria provides milk for students to drink if they choose to do so during morning and afternoon snack times.
There is no need to send milk to school unless your child has special dietary needs.
Birthdays (NO NUTS please)
Birthday celebrations take place during afternoon snack time in the cafeteria.
Please contact us in advance if you would like to bring a treat to celebrate your child’s birthday.
Please ensure that anything that is sent in does not contain nuts.
As we become more settled we will be focusing on our first Unit of Inquiry, “Who We Are” and focusing on the lines of inquiry:
Creating a caring and inclusive community
Striving for Understanding
Developing Passion in ourselves and others
Taking ethical action
We are looking forward to getting to know your children better and seeing all the wonderful things they can do! Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
