Week #29: March 23rd – 27th (School Closure Week 2)

Message to EY3 Parents

Dear EY3 Parents,

We’d like to start by saying thank you for supporting your children, each other, and us this past week. Together, we have created a meaningful learning community for the students and have shown great resilience. We’ve made it through our first week!

Our current Unit of Inquiry, Nature Inspires, is scheduled to end next week so we would like to spend the next 5 days reflecting, finishing tasks, and collecting data for our records. Please try to allow your children to complete their tasks as independently as possible. It’s okay if they make mistakes, as this is an important part of their learning journey.

Next week, we will be focusing on connecting with one another through Seesaw and ZOOM. We would like to see the students viewing and reviewing their own work as well as their classmates’. Each student will be encouraged to leave comments for 3 or more of their classmates.

There will be a reduction in the number of assigned activities from homeroom teachers next week. These activities will be labeled ‘MUST DO’. All other activities from us will be optional. This is to enable students to work on their projects and fulfill the need for balance between screen time and physical/ creative/ playful activities. Activities posted by specialist teachers are to be completed as usual.

Lastly, please remember to read daily with your child in any language.

Thanks again for all of your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

With appreciation,

The EY3 Team
