Week #36: May 25th – 29th

Unit of Inquiry – How We Express Ourselves: Storytelling
Screen Shot 2020-05-25 at 14.00.50This week, students will be focusing on composing their own stories and will be asked to share them on Friday. Students are free to choose the manner in which to share their stories (acting it out, writing it down, using drawings, music, dance, etc.).

The first step will be for the students to plan their stories, using what they have learned over the past few weeks.

Homeroom teachers will be checking in with students over the next few days to monitor their progress and to offer support as needed. Please be sure to check our Google Calendar and/or our shared Google Doc for meet-up times and ZOOM schedules along with any homeroom-specific email messages from teachers.

Phonics Check-Ins
Phonics IMGPlease stay tuned for details about this Thursday’s Phonics Check-In ZOOMs. Homeroom teachers will be supporting students in mixed groups, similar to our previous phonics sessions.

Choice Board (for Can Do activities):
Once again this week, we are also including a Choice Board that has 6 engaging and fun inquiry activities that your child and you can do at home. These activities are all linked to the unit through ATLs and subjects, and each one has a goal for the children to accomplish. They also list all the resources that your child will need for the activity. If your child would like to share their learning, they can post it to Seesaw.

Just click on the picture for the board. Once it opens, click ‘Present’ and HAVE FUN!
