Last week, we continued sorting out about natural systems. The students began to use the knowledge that they have accumulated over the last few weeks, and tried to recreate food webs in a habitat of their own choice. Later this week, we will move on to how human impact on these habitats and what the possible consequences could be from our actions.

On Thursday, a couple of G4 students, Kin and David, took action came to our class to help spread awareness about the decimation of sharks due to the demand for shark fin soup. A number of students seemed to be quite moved by the presentation, and it is something that they may like to discuss further at home with their families.

Last Wednesday, G2 was in charge of the monthly assembly, and everyone agreed that the students did a stellar job of creating a thought-provoking performance. All of the students worked hard at trying to figure out how to share our knowledge and concerns with our fellow students, and the entire G2 student body worked tirelessly on Monday and Tuesday as they wrote and memorized their lines for the assembly.

Tuesday, November 20 – Tomorrow – is Universal Children’s Day!

EY1 has been inquiring into what this day means. They have talked about children that live all over the world and the issues that they face.

They discussed The HUB that visits KIS each month for swimming and activities and how some of these children do not have families or access to clothing, food, medicine, etc.

They decided that to benefit the HUB, raise awareness, and support local children, they would have a Free Dress Day tomorrow, Nov 20th for a minimum of a 20 baht donation. (Please have the students give the donations to their teachers)
