In response to meeting the excellent dancers from Sowetto, seeing their performance and hearing all about their culture and work, members of the Student Council have suggested we hold a Non–Uniform Day this Friday, so they can present the money raised to the group personally on Saturday before they fly back to Johannesburg. We ask all students to bring in a donation of 20 baht to wear their own choice of clothes.
- Breakfast and After-School homework Clubs for orphaned children
- Skills training & reading programmes to help community members get employment and stay away from crime and drugs.
The student council will be making posters and visiting classes later today to explain more.
In addition to the non-uniform day, as part of our current organisations unit, we are setting the Grade 3 students the challenge of working together to create a shelter that is waterproof (beware, they will be tested). Students are working together to design a shelter today and may be asking for any bits found at home that may be able to help them.
The aim is to be able to work together as a team to achieve their mission just as…Organisations use individual contributions and interdependent systems to achieved their mission’.
Many thanks for your support and we look forward to a fun Friday!
