Thursday 2nd May & Friday 3rd May
Dear Grade 3 students and parents,
Following the unfortunate event of a burst pipe which has lead to a school closure, we have put together some work that we would like to be completed at home. These will mostly be based around our current learning in UOI, Language and Math.
How We Express Ourselves
We would like you to complete a reflection of your learning in this unit using the template that is now available on Google Classroom: Please go to Grade 3 classroom > Classwork (at the top) > UOI: How We Express Ourselves. Don’t forget to submit once completed. We will be sharing these on Tuesday and printing a copy for your portfolios.
Shape: IXL Please complete the shape activities (CC,DD,EE & start FF). We will be checking that how you are getting on through the day with these.
Timestables: Keep practising your timestables facts how you would like, here is a fun activity you can try. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
We have been working really hard on narrative writing.
Have a go at writing your own story which is inspired by this image…
Think carefully about the structure of your story, does it have a clear beginning, middle and end?
Have you included lots of descriptive language using exciting adjectives and interesting adverbs?
Have you used varied sentence openers?
Remember to check for punctuation (full stops and capital letters)
Continue to work on assignments set by Ms Pam.
Teachers will be available throughout the day, if you have any questions or queries. We will be checking in to see how you are getting on and are looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Grade 3 Team.
Update on home learning:
Good morning Grade 3 parents & students,
Thank you for all your support with the home learning tasks, we have been really impressed with the level of commitment to the learning. Just a note to ask your children to check their emails for an update on today’s work.
100 days of School will take place on Monday, if your child has made a t-shirt to celebrate as per the homework option.
3-way conferences, for G3A, will take place on Monday as scheduled, however please just keep in mind that we have had limited time to prepare due to the school closure. However, it will be a great opportunity for the children to discuss their goals and targets along with ways that we can all support them to achieve them.
Many thanks for your continued support,
Ms. Jen & Mr Matt

In the Event of an Emergency Closure
Emergency closures can happen any time throughout the academic year with little or no advanced warning. In the event of an emergency school closure, the safety and well being of all community members is a priority. It is recognized that emergency closure only happens during crisis and that format, responses and staff/student availability will depend on the reason for closure.
The school will endeavor to provide the most up to date in formation for all families in relation to the emergency situation/closure. In the event of a closure, the school will provide opportunities for home learning to minimize the impact the closure may have on student’s learning.
