G5 Graduation -Hot news

Graduation  will take place this Thursday 4th June  face to face in the school car park!

We are so happy to have been allowed access for Grade 5 to have a graduation to mark the end of the student’s time in PYP. Thanks to all for helping to accommodate this in these difficult times.

We will need to abide by social distancing rules so

Graduations times as follows

G5B – 8.30 – 10.00

G5 A -10.30 – 12.00

G5C- 1.00 – 2.30

We are asking for all children to wear school uniform and masks will need to be worn.  Students will be asked to sit on a chair awaiting their time to go onto the stage.  Photos will be taken on the stage with masks  alternative photo opportunities for parents  and students will be available.

All classes will need to vacate by their designated time to keep to social distancing rules.

The student’s are so looking forward to seeing their friends and being able to attend this important rite of passage together. We do hope that they can all come. For more details please refer to letter sent.

UOI

The students started a mini unit last week about Transitions and rites of passage ceremonies from one stage of life to another. This will be continued this week with an investigation into the life of students in the MYP to allow our students an insight into their lives next year.  During this process they will interview live MYP student.

Plans for this week are posted on the home learning page, have been emailed to parents and are on the google classroom for students. There will be no tasks given for Wednesday- a public holiday, Thursday- graduation day and on Friday the students will be encouraged to take part in an exploration day where they can choose the activities they wish to complete organised by Ms Kirsten.

Maths

The students had their last test on Friday to determine their understanding of units of measurement. For the rest of the term the students will be investigating probability.

Wacky hair day

We had so much fun looking at all the hair styles on Friday, great idea G5A. We can’t wait to see which house received the most points for this and for the rest of the year. Thanks for organising this Mr Matt. Take a look at some of the great styles below.
