U of I: How We Express Ourselves
Students explored emotions through facial expressions through art and play and used this to create their own characters.

They also used their fine motor skills to create illustrations and share their ideas about what they would like to see in a newly-designed school playground.

We got lots of imaginative suggestions such as waterslides, pirate ships, ball pits, dinosaurs, and trampolines.

Numeracy
Apart from our Daily Data, KG students have been exploring a number of mathematical concepts through the various classroom play centers. As seen in the slideshow below, students have been making connections to measurement (weights and lengths), shape and space, number, and symmetry.

Literacy
Students have begun making connections to high-frequency words through their reading and handwriting.

They are practicing leaving finger spaces between words.

To celebrate Computer Science Education Week together with students around the world, we will have an Hour of Code event at KIS on Tuesday 4th at the PYP atrium.

Christmas Wishes
A big thank you to all who donated a Christmas present to a child in need. For those that haven’t yet, we still have names hung on the Christmas tree of children who are hoping to receive a  gift at the party this weekend. The Christmas Party where the gifts will be distributed is this coming Sunday December 9th.  All donated gifts will be picked up this Friday.

Please remember to stick the tag on the outside of the gift that you are donating so we know which child to forward it to.

Thank you so much for your generosity.
