Following on from the success of the G3-5 KIS Badminton team at the recent AISAA tournament, PYP students had a chance to pair up with a friend and compete against children in other classes and grades for the PYP Badminton tournament. The tournament also coincided with the end of our ‘Net games’ unit of Inquiry where students compared badminton, tennis and volleyball before making links and transferring skills. The tournament was a great success with over 50 students competing over 2 days. The eventual winners were Good and Proud (Lulul and Bea runners-up) in the Girls section, and Phip and Gun (Pan and Paan runners-up) in the Boys event. Well done everybody!
KIS hosted its annual PYP Swim Gala last week, and again it didn’t disappoint! Students from G1-5 showed what swimming skills they have learned this year in lessons with a fantastic effort that demonstrated many of the IB learner profile attitudes such as enthusiasm, passion, commitment, cooperation and appreciation.
In the end, Hanuman won the Lower Grade event whilst Erawan came out on top in the Upper Grades. The real winners though were the students who put so much into the day for their teams – well done everybody!!
Last week was a super active day in the KIS calendar as the PYP community came together for the annual Sports Day! There was plenty of effort, determination, spirit and fun on show as all teams demonstrated their sporting skills over the course of the day. In Lower Grade School, Hanuman came out on top whilst Erawan took the spoils in G3-5. Well done all teams on a fantastic sporting day!

Even though school is closed, students can keep themselves fit at home – don’t forget we have the final of the Ironman & Ironwoman competition next week!!
G3-5 are currently training for a biathlon – swimming and running (we called it mini Ironman and woman!), as part of our swimming unit. It tied in with the G5 UOI of ‘sustainability’ and how we can keep our energy levels sustained whilst doing exercise.
