This week in EY3 we continued to inquire into where we are in place and time. We explored the concept of place through mapping activities on our remote learning days, and continue to explore the concept of time as we work on our personal timelines in the classroom. Our personal timelines also provide an opportunity for language and literacy development, as we write about our life events and use sequencing words to talk about them. Next week, we will continue to work on creating these timelines, sharing with the group as they are completed.
Our mathematics focus this week continued to be on number sense, with Numicon games and online engagements connecting numerals with quantities, and comparing bigger and smaller numbers. Near the end of the week we began to delve into our Shape & Space strand, inviting children to share their knowledge about 2D shapes and playing shape identification game at the math centre. We will continue to inquire into shape next week as well.
