We hope you had a safe and relaxing Songkran break. We are all disappointed about the latest Covid outbreak and return to remote learning, but as in the past we will do our best to make the best of a difficult situation. The following is information about the first week in Term 3 and our return to remote learning:
- To begin the term tomorrow (Monday), we have three activities planned for students to reflect on their holiday, and on what they can do to have a happy and successful remote learning period. These activities can be found on Google Classroom. Please remind your child that Google Classroom is the place where they will go to check what activities they have each day, and the place where they will go to meet their teachers and classmates online. We will not have any scheduled online class meets tomorrow
- Tuesday, April 20th will be the first day of full classes where we will follow the Remote Learning Schedule (attached below). Please note the times for ‘Morning Meetings’, reading groups, specialist classes, etc. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
- Tomorrow teachers will be going into school to prepare material bags for each student. These bags are to be picked up by parents on Tuesday. There will be an email from our administration explaining how to pick these bags up. The bags will contain reading books, notebooks, and other materials students will need during remote learning.
- Tomorrow afternoon we will send an overview of the learning activities that students will be doing for the rest of the week. Going forward these weekly overviews will be sent each Sunday evening. There will also be daily overviews of activities that will be posted on Google Classroom, and additional planning details on the Grade 2 blog.
That is all for now I believe. Thanks as always for your support. If you have any questions please email your child’s classroom teacher. If your child has extra time tomorrow we suggest taking some time to prepare their learning space, and discuss with their family members how they can have a great remote learning period. Let’s hope it’s a short one.
