Dear Grade 2 Parents,
We hope that you are well. It has been a great first week of school in Grade 2. We’ve been so impressed with how prepared, excited and confident all of our new students are. Thank you very, very much to all of the parents in our Grade 2 community for helping make for such a smooth beginning to this school year.
This past week much of our focus was on getting to know the students, beginning to build relationships with them, and motivating them for the fun and learning ahead in Grade 2. We’ve also spent time discussing and sharing ideas about how we can work well together, and how we can build a caring community while working remotely.
For the week ahead we look forward to settling into our regular timetable schedule and introducing our math and literacy program. We will also continue to tap into our students’ thinking with regards to how we can work best together, with the goal of creating a class ‘Essential Agreement’ by the end of the week. For a full overview of the learning focus in our classroom subject areas, and specialist and Thai classes, please see the G2 Weekly Overview document in the Pages section.
Grade 2 Parent Forum
This Thursday, August 19th at 2:00 pm we are happy to host a Grade 2 Parent Forum as a chance to say hello and for parents to ask any questions they may be having. We will send a Zoom link via email on Wednesday for all of those who might like to join us. We look to forward to seeing many of you then.
Thank you again for all of your support thus far and helping us get off to a great start in Grade 2. If you have any questions please feel free to email your child’s classroom teacher.
Have a great weekend,
Jordan, Jessica, John, Nook, Pik and Cash
