Week 17-18 Communication

We hope all is well. It’s hard to believe, but this is the last week of the first term.  We trust that you and your families are ready for a long relaxing break, and that you are excited for a return to regular 5 day a week in school learning in January.

This past week was a lot of fun as our students were busy demonstrating their creativity, while creating some amazing examples of visual and performance artwork. Our students have also shown a lot of creativity, and some impressive writing skills while completing the final revisions and edits on their stories, and beginning the publishing process.

Students used the writing process of: plan, draft, revise, edit and publish to make their own narrative story. Here you can see a few examples of how how students chose to publish their book.

Students have been staying healthy and well while at school.

For the week ahead our students will be focused on sharing their work, and then reflecting on the creative process. Our students will get a chance to share the different perspectives they have towards each others’ artwork and appreciate the work of their classmates.

Christmas Parties: Next week we will have separate Christmas parties on Tuesday and Friday for Group 1 and 2 students respectively.  We are also planning to have some fun online activities for our Group 3 students. For the in school parties students are invited to bring in food to share with their classmates. Please note that food must be individually wrapped, and not contain nuts.  Students are also welcome to wear free dress on those party days.

FYI: Mr. Jordan will be leaving for Canada today, as he has an urgent family matter to attend to.  Jordan will be helping to support the online learning portion of the program from Canada as much as possible next week.

Here’s to a fun final week of the first term and a safe and happy holidays for us all.
