House day was, as always, a lovely way to round off a great week! Well done to all the Grade 5s who took the risk to try out to be a captain. For us teachers, it was lovely to see the students we taught last year involved and they were great role models to the current G4s about taking risks and taking ethical action to help create a caring and inclusive community. We even redesigned the house logos!
We hope you were able to pick up your child’s learning pack today. It is full of learning resources and will be available for collection next week too if you were unavailable today.
This week we conducted 1:1 conferences as a check-in opportunity and a chance to discuss our start of term learning goals. As always, if you feel your child needs support, please contact us!
In Maths we have been assessing our understanding of place value and our confidence with the four operations. Your child has also been asked to complete their “Snapshot” through the IXL Diagnostic tab (as detailed in Ms Tania’s letter last week).
Your child has also been guided to complete a reading assessment (or ‘flight check’) through the Raz Kids portal. On Monday next week we will be explaining the Grade 4 Writing assessment and showing students how to do this (deadline Friday 3 September). If you haven’t already, please read Ms Tania’s guidance on the parent role for these assessments below:
Detailed planning and learning outcomes can be found in the usual place and here is the Resource Planner for next week’s specialist lessons too:
Have a great weekend!
