We have also started our new unit of inquiry based upon the transdisciplinary theme of ‘Sharing the Planet.’  We will be looking into the attributes which make someone a Global Citizen. Investigating first, the different parts of the transdisciplinary theme- looking into the sharing of finite resources, peace and conflict, community relationships and equal opportunities.

This week the students have been reflecting on what they have learnt this term and how they can communicate this in writing and images through their portfolios. Next week the focus will be on paragraphing, the how and the why of including these in our writing.

Differing multiplication strategies have been the focus of our Numeracy sessions this week with the students learning the different methods and applying these to appropriate problems. They have then shared their knowledge with others explaining both the methods and why they felt it was best suited for the problem. This investigation will be extended to include division strategies next week.
