Dates to remember
- 8th June – Grade 5 party
- 11.30 am, 10th June – Last day of term 3
Unit of inquiry
This week the students have been investigating personal changes associated with puberty including body shape, body hygiene, hair growth and acne. This investigation will continue into next week when emotional changes will also be inquired into.
MYP Visits
The students gained a great deal from their visits to the MYP this week provoking more questions which they will investigate. However the overall theme during the feedback sessions seemed to be how kind and helpful the Grade 6 buddies were. We would like to thank them all for this and special thanks go to Mr Tri for organising the days.
A Cappella group performances
We had an amazing treat this morning when two groups from Harvard university visited school and shared their wonderful singing performances. They were so confident, acting and sometimes dancing through the songs they had chosen. We thank them for including us in their tours.
Company B and The Purple People
Continuing the music theme, Grade 5 band members performed at lunchtime, surprising us all with their brilliant renditions, even after such a short time rehearsing. Well done to all band members and to Mr Chris for organising the event.

Grade 5 party
This will take part on Wednesday 8th in the afternoon. Students may bring their own clothes to change into for the afternoon. Please complete this doc if you would like to donate some food for the student’s party.
Lockdown drill
The students undertook a lockdown drill on Monday to make sure that they are aware of the procedures they need to follow in an event of a emergency situation. They mainly acted in a sensible manner and the discussion both before and after the drill helped their understanding of the need for such a drill.
Literacy
The Grade 5 magazines are all in process and will be published next week, look out for these. We hope you enjoy them.
Numeracy
The students will be completing their investigations into 2d and 3d shapes, tessellation and rotational symmetry and ratio and proportion.
