I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing break and are ready for the new term of music making.
We will return to the guitar this term so go to SeeSaw, follow the activities and let’s pick the guitar back up from right where we left it.

Welcome to a new year of music making here at KIS. We have many exciting things in store and many new things to learn.
Our first unit, Inspiring Individuals, a school-wide unit, takes a look at our quality learning behaviours and how they look in the music classes.

How do we do this in the music classes?

We have been inquiring into national anthems and the reasons and purposes behind them.

What is your favourite national anthem and why?

Is it the anthem of your own country or somewhere different?

Fusion music is a type of music which blends genres, forms, cultures and styles. Fusion music can take many forms from jazz-rock to east-west world music.

Here are three basic chords we have been learning. It’s great that we can all play them successfully so now we have to work on the changes, how we transition between the chords.
Successful changes are just a matter of repetition, muscle memory will eventually guide your fingers to the correct positions without you having to look and think about where to place them; this means PRACTICE!
