EY 3 will be performing in the holiday concert at the end of this term. Costume details will be discussed a little closer to the event.

Welcome to a new year of music making here at KIS. We have many exciting things in store and many new things to learn.
Our first unit, Inspiring Individuals, a school-wide unit, takes a look at our quality learning behaviours and how they look in the music classes.

At KIS we believe that quality learning behaviours include:

Striving for understanding
Developing our passions
An inclusive and caring community
Taking ethical action.

How do we do this in the music classes?

We will be performing in the end-of-year show.
Your teachers will tell you more about what you are doing but we will be ending the show with ‘Try Everything’ from the movie Zootopia and the KIS song which we will all sing together.

Music connects us to our emotions and in KG for this unit we’re exploring how music makes us feel.
Music can be so many things; happy, sad, exciting and even scary. We are experiencing different pieces of music and examining the emotional connections we have when we listen.

We’re also learning a song about how love, sharing and a little song can make our world a better place. It’s the real thing!

Welcome back to KIS.
In KG this year we will learn about musical stories, listen to, and be inspired to, create art from powerful music, sing, dance and perform as we look forward to a great year ahead filled with opportunities for authentic music-making. We will learn about the instruments of the orchestra and how they are grouped in families and what they sound like when played with on their own and together.
