Team cuts ahead of “On-Season” and Fixture list Season 2

Dear Parents,

As stated earlier in the Academic year, we have allowed all students to train during the off-season for G3-U Boys Football, G5-U Boys Football, G7-U Boys Football, G10-U Boys Basketball, and G10-U Girls Basketball. However, with these teams about to start their seasons in January, we will be cutting down these teams to ensure the training sessions can be more focus and our teams better prepared for games. Please note some team numbers will be different from others and this is down to the coach’s preference and what they feel comfortable with.

Having used the off-season to judge players, please be informed Coaches have selected their teams which you can find by clicking HERE for Basketball and HERE for Football. Please note for G3-U Boys and G5-U Boys Football we have split our teams into A and B with A being selected for AISAA League games. Please note while Team A will be used for AISAA League game, on occasion, students maybe brought up from Team B to support the A team. For G7-U Boys Football, G10-U Boys and Girls Basketball, the top list have been selected for the team, while the bottom list will need to wait till the off-season to rejoin training.

Season 2 Fixture List

Please see the full Season 2 fixture list below but please note games are subject to changes and we may have additional friendlies. Additionally all fixtures will be added to the Team Master list. Please be reminded that team selection will be announced the week before games.

Primary Badminton trial results 2019-20

Posted by Sam on December 12, 2019
Uncategorized / No Comments

Dear Parents,

Please be informed that we completed the Primary Badminton trials today and Coach Art has selected the students to be apart of the team. To students who weren’t select, Coach Art provided feedback about common areas for students to improve in. For the G3-U students, this was mostly their serves and returns and for older students, they were not looking to change their returns (play long or short). Both groups should additionally look to work on their movement and ensure they return to the center of the court after each shot.

We encourage your child to continue playing badminton whether this is through your support at home or with an outside provider. Additionally Coach Art runs an afterschool Badminton Club which you are welcome to sign-up for next term to help your child build their skills.

Please see the final team selection below and congratulations to those who were selected. If you do not see your child’s name, I am afraid this means they weren’t selected:

G3-U Boys G3-U Girls
Team Sub Team Sub
Ben G3 Song Long G2 Nada G2 Ga-Heun G2
Ken G3 Adrien G3 Bew Bew G3 Peach G2
Peace G3 Guy G3  Arya G3
Rew Rew G3 Lily G3

G5-U Boys G5-U Girls
Team Sub Team Sub
Bruce G5 Divyen G4 Pim Pim G4 Milliez G5
Gun G5 Leo X. G4 Jill G5 Praew G5
Jaixing G5 Lucas G4 Ninny G5 Proud Proud G5
Phip G5 Qing Qing G5

A quick reminder that we are only allowed to take a total of 4 Boys and 4 Girls for each age group to the competition. Therefore please note Coach Art and myself agreed to have each team split into “Team” and “Sub” whereby students under “Team” will be apart of the main squad to go and compete. “Sub” will be used should a “Team” student be sick on the day, we will select from our subs. This allows our “Sub” students to continue to build their skills with the rest of the team and be a replacement we would be confident in their skills.

Training & Saturday Workshop:

Please note training will start as soon as we come back from the winter break and will be in the Sports Hall. Training will be during lunch on Mondays for G3-U and Tuesdays for G5-U. Please note for Gunn G5 and Phip G5 while the Football season is on, please attend Football Training on Tuesdays and Coach Art would like your child to join G3-U on Mondays. Students do not need to change for training. Additionally, we will provide rackets but your child is more than welcome to bring their own.

To ensure our students are ready ahead of the Tournament we will be running 2 Saturday Workshops closer to the Tournament date. It is mandatory that “Team” students attend and we encourage “Sub” to attend which will further their skills. These Saturday workshops will be G3-U 9am-12pm and G5-U 12pm-3pm on March 28th and April 25th. We will send reminders the week before.

 Reminder of Tournament dates:

Please be reminded that the G5-U Badminton Tournament is scheduled to happen on April 28th 2020 at Berkeley. G3-U will likely be on a Saturday and we will inform you of the date as soon as it is confirmed. Closer to the date we will remind you as well as give further details about the event and what to wear.

I very much look forward to seeing the students progress under Coach Art. Happy holidays!

Firstly congratulations to the students who have been selected to compete in this year’s Secondary Athletics.

When, Where, Bus?

Please be reminded the event is Wednesday (4th December) at Mahidol University (Salaya) from 8:30am till 1pm. The bus will be leaving school slightly earlier at 7am sharp. We highly recommend your child arrives at school 5-10 minutes before. WE WILL NOT BE WAITING ON ANY STUDENTS as we would like to ensure our students have a chance to warm-up before. Please note for bus students, we will not provide an earlier route into school, you must make your own way into school to make it in time for the bus.

What does your child need to bring? Uniform?

Firstly if your child does not have one yet, they may come to the SEA store to pick up a KIS “TEAM” shirt. Additionally, if your child’s current TEAM shirt is too small they may swap (bring in the old one). Students should wear PE shorts and trainers with the TEAM shirt. Your child should bring a water bottle, sun cream, and hat. Your child does not need to bring any snacks, we will provide plenty of drinks, snacks, and lunch.
